D.C. Old Post Office, Washington, D.C.

In advance of the Trump Group signing a 60 year lease for an iconic building in DC preservation, OLBN was commissioned to write a Historic Structure Report on the Old Post Office to guide the redevelopment and protect the historic building in accordance with the Secretary of Interior’s Standards. OLBN worked closely with the General Service Administration’s historic preservation officer and chief conservator to craft a document that clearly identified contributing and non contributing features aiding the Trump Group in their design process and compliance with Section 106 review. The working document informed the DC Historic Preservation Office, the Commission of Fine Arts and the National Capital Planning Commission during their review and allowed the Trump Group to clearly understand their immediate and long term obligations to this national treasure.
